The Books…

Peggy-Dot the writer…

I wasn’t always an artist; once upon a time I was a writer – for the first half century of my life, to be exact. I trained in novel and screenwriting and had numerous articles and short stories published in national and international publications before going on to creating my own publishing label. With the invaluable help of my stalwart husband, I wrote and produced four highly acclaimed novels. These novels were published under my birth name “Janis”, which was a name I never really felt belonged to me — so in 2019 I took the huge plunge of deed poll combining my nickname “Peggy” (from my maiden name “Pegrum”) with my beloved grandmother’s name “Dorothy”, to create something very unique and very much my own.

Sadly, my writing career came to a very abrupt end in 2017 after extreme family traumas and subsequent illness left me too depressed and unwell to write – although the rehabilitation process eventually led me to find the painter within. I still have many story ideas knocking around in my head and I hope to pen another novel someday (I know I certainly owe the world the rest of the Book Ark series) — I also have plans to combine my words and pictures in a book, so – watch this space!

Although not currently available in paperback, all four of my novels are still available internationally on Amazon Kindle, and still enjoy a modicum of popularity to this day.
