My depiction of Jane Austen’s former home at Chawton in Hampshire, now the museum dedicated to this iconic author’s memory. Here Jane Austen lived out the last eight years of her life and wrote all six novels. Chawton was her home until her death in 1817 and I painted this picture after a pilgrimage to this hallowed place for any Austen fan.
