Another one of my favourite, magical places – Falkland in the Kingdom of Fife. I find that just by saying things are in the “Kingdom of Fife” they instantly take on a fairy-tale quality and the village of Falkland fully delivers on that promise. This wee village has a palace, waterfalls you can walk under and is surrounded by enchanted woodland, it also has a host of inspiring buildings. The tower that inspired this particular painting is tucked away, almost hidden from sight down a little side alley..
